Tammy currently studies graphic design and film photography in Oakland, California. In 2011, upon becoming enamored with the photographic potential of the Hipstamatic app, she founded Hipstaroll, a vibrant Instagram community. She is a former contributing member of We Are Juxt (now Grryo), and AMPt (Advanced Mobile Photography team). In 2012 & 2013 Tammy proudly represented Oakland, Ca in the 24 Hour Project, a worldwide photography event, also serving as a panel member of The 24 Hour Project Conference, Los Angeles, 2013.
Her photographic imagery spans several genres. She is perhaps best known for turning the lens on herself and manipulating the results into psychosocial imagery, enticing viewers to “feel” her work without supplying tidy conclusions. Street photography also calls to her, and with an appetite for the unplanned design of all things urban, she shows us the precious nature of the mundane.
Her work has been shown in San Francisco, Oakland, Seattle, Los Angeles, New York, and Guadalajara.
